Thank you for my present last year. A huge franchise movie, along with two smaller projects were exactly what I wanted. This year I’d like for the FOX empire to crumble and for their executives in charge of programming to know the sting of a thousand tiny paper cuts. If you could see your way to it a few more Avengers movies would be nice along with a triumphant return to TV. Also, if that Buffy reboot goes ahead I’m killing you off.
I'm having a mini DVD clearout in time for Christmas
I’ve been rethinking my DVD strategy (mainly due to lack of space) and I’ve decided that I don’t need to own every film I vaguely even sort of like. Here’s what I’m getting rid of so far:
-8 Mile (Since I got it I’ve only watched the rap battles at the end of the film)
-Bubba Ho-Tep (Watched it once, can’t remember it & never felt the need to re-watch)
-David Copperfield (BBC Adaptation starring Daniel Radcliffe before he was Harry Potter)
-Down With Love
-Pieces Of April
-Rush Hour 2 (I own better Jackie Chan films & they don’t include Chris Tucker)
-You’ve Got Mail (I originally bought this because I thought it was When Harry Met Sally.)
-Eddie Izzard: Circle*
-Lee Evans: Wired & Wonderful
Some of them are going to my parents, the rest to charity. There might be some more additions once I get round to re-watching or watching for the first time some of the other films I own.
The problem is, I know I own some genuinely terrible films (I don’t think you’ll find anyone arguing Jason X, Crank or Final Destination are high points of cinema.) but they are hilariously entertaining and I will doubtlessly watch them again at some point.
*I got a boxset of his stand-up DVDs last Christmas and haven’t found anyone to offload this copy to.
